Former Rockstar Developer Suggests Smaller and denser Map for GTA 6
Over the last decade, Grand Theft Auto (GTA) enthusiasts have undoubtedly spent countless hours exploring the expansive map of Los Santos in GTA V. Although it’s not the largest gaming world, the drive (or fly, sail, or ride) from one location to another can often obstruct players from reaching their objectives. While some open areas are intriguing, others may not warrant exploration despite Rockstar’s efforts to populate the entire universe.
The Vision of a Former Rockstar Developer
Tony Gowland, a former Rockstar developer and current head of Hangar 13, has an alternative vision for the next installment of Grand Theft Auto. In a recent interview, he shared his thoughts on GTA, his time at Rockstar, and the future of the popular franchise.
Tony Gowland’s Perspective on GTA 6
“I think GTA 6 should be smaller and denser,” said Gowland, who had previously worked on titles like Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories, Chinatown Wars, and Red Dead Redemption. “A more memorable navigation experience with less open spaces would make the gameplay more engaging for players.”
The Impact of GTA 6 Leaks
Gowland also touched upon the catastrophic leaks that rocked the GTA 6 project late last year, exposing around 100 GB of content from within Rockstar Games and disseminating it contact.
Gowland’s Desire for a More Urban GTA
“As a longtime Grand Theft Auto fan, I’ve always been drawn to the urban sprawls – think New York City (similar to GTA IV) or London. A denser game environment would create a more immersive experience for players.”
