Some voices in the gaming world are instantly recognizable, and one such voice is Doug Cockle’s gruff, husky portrayal of monster-slayer Geralt of Rivia. In a recent interview with IGN, Cockle expressed his deep affection for the character and his wish to ‘keep voicing Geralt until I can no longer voice anymore.’
Geralt’s Possible Role in The Witcher 4
Rumors have circulated that Geralt of Rivia will make an appearance in CD Projekt Red’s upcoming game, The Witcher 4, codenamed ‘Polaris.’ However, it’s unclear in what capacity Geralt will be present. Cockle has not been contacted about reprising his role yet.

Cockle last voiced Geralt in the 2016 expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Blood and Wine. He is set to return as the beloved character in an upcoming animated series. However, regarding future games, there’s currently no information available about what lies ahead for Cockle.

“I don’t know what’s happening inside CDPR at the moment,” Cockle shared with IGN, acknowledging that he is not closely involved with the developers. Instead, he considers himself more of an external contributor who ‘spins around the company, waiting to be called up’ to lend his distinctive voice and acting skills.
