Sons of the Forest: A Survival Horror Game on the Rise

Sons of the Forest, an early access survival horror game developed by Endnight Games, has been making waves since its release in February 2023. The game has received continuous support and updates from the developer, propelling it to become a top contender in the survival horror genre. It surpasses its predecessor, The Forest, which came out in 2014.

Official Release and Major Update

Endnight Games recently announced that Sons of the Forest will exit early access on February 22, 2024. Alongside this milestone, the game is set to receive a significant update, which includes the voiceover of renowned actor Shawn Ashmore (X-Men, The Boys, Animorphs) for the character ‘Timmy’.

A Year of Updates and Community Involvement

Endnight Games shared an update on Twitter, discussing their plans for version 1.0 ‘and beyond’. Following a year of consistent updates, enhancements, expansions, and community-driven changes, Sons of the Forest is nearly ready to shed its training wheels and transition into a fully-released game.

A Beautiful, Terrifying, and Hilarious Adventure

Personally, I’ve found myself drawn to the game over the past few months. Its striking visuals, heart-stopping horror elements, and unexpected humor have kept me engaged. The upcoming full release is sure to bring countless players back for more.

Console Release Unconfirmed

At present, there’s no information regarding a console release for Sons of the Forest. However, as The Forest (2014) was also accessible on PlayStation 4, it’s not entirely out of the question that Sons of the Forest could eventually follow suit.
