Baldur’s Gate 3: No Plans for Game Pass, According to Larian Studios
Since its August release, Baldur’s Gate 3 has garnered rave reviews from critics and fans alike. The latest entry in the classic RPG series is now available on Xbox, but many players are curious if it will eventually come to Game Pass.
Larian Studios’ Founder Speaks Out
Swen Vincke, founder of Larian Studios, recently addressed this question in an interview. He stated unequivocally that Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be added to Microsoft’s subscription service.
“It Was Never Going to Be on Game Pass,” Vincke Said
“Oh, we always said from the get-go, it wasn’t going to be on Game Pass,” Vincke explained.
Why Not Game Pass? Fair Pricing and No Microtransactions
“We made a big game, so I think there’s a fair price to be paid for that,” Vincke continued. “And I think that that is okay. We don’t charge you any micro-transactions on top of it, so you get what you pay for. Upfront, it’s a big meaty game.”
Baldur’s Gate 3: Worth the Investment?
With no plans for Game Pass, players will have to pay the upfront cost for Baldur’s Gate 3. However, Vincke believes this is a reasonable price for such an extensive game.
A Fair Price and Continued Game Development
“This is what allows us to continue making other games,” he added.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
