Destiny 2’s “The Final Shape” Delayed: What Bungie Has in Store for Players
Bungie, the renowned gaming developer behind Destiny 2, announced a delay in the release of “The Final Shape,” the game’s major expansion. Originally scheduled for February 2024, the expansion is now set to launch on June 2, 2024.
Bungie’s Announcement
“The Final Shape is a testament to the first ten years of Destiny storytelling, an experience cherished by Guardians worldwide,” Bungie shared in a blog post on their official Website. “We want to honor this journey and the countless hours spent together, which is why we’re taking the time we need to deliver a vision that will stand out for years to come.”
Pre-Launch Content: Wishes and Moments of Triumph
With the delay, players can look forward to new content starting in February. This content includes weekly progression-based quests called Wishes and the launch of Moments of Triumph, offering an opportunity for players to celebrate their past achievements.
Guardian Games: Class vs. Class Battles
In March, Bungie will introduce Guardian Games, a new event with a focus on class vs. class battles. Players are encouraged to represent their chosen guardian class and compete against others for supremacy.
Two-Month Content Update: Destiny 2: Into the Light
“To prepare players for their Guardian’s journey into the Traveler, we’re releasing a two-month content update available to everyone called Destiny 2: Into the Light,” Bungie said. This update will start in April and offer new missions, challenges, and rewards.
Bungie’s Excitement
“We know you’re eager to get your hands on The Final Shape,” Bungie acknowledged. “In that sense, delays aren’t fun. However, we’re thrilled to have the extra time needed to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision for this culmination of Destiny storytelling.”
