Sony Announces Update to PlayStation 5 Game Help Feature: Community Game Clips Coming “Later This Year”
At its latest press event, Sony revealed that the PlayStation 5’s Game Help feature will be getting an update to support community game clips. This new functionality will enable players to access or contribute clips to assist their fellow gaming enthusiasts and even view Game Help hints created by developers.
Availability and Titles
It’s essential to note that these features will only be accessible in “supported games.” Although Sony hasn’t released an official list, today’s announcement featured Granblue Fantasy: Relink as one potential title. The company aims to expand the feature to as many titles as possible in the future.
Participation and Opt-Out
Players have the freedom to choose whether or not to participate in this feature. The process for contributing clips is automatic, making it less time-consuming compared to manually editing and uploading footage.
Rating Usefulness
Users can rate the usefulness of community-contributed clips, helping to filter out unwanted content. This feature should prevent trolling, unclear clips, and misplaced clips.
Streamers’ Concerns
Interested streamers can rest assured that only their raw game footage will be uploaded. However, contact IDs and chat messages may appear in some games.
Anticipated Title List and the PlayStation 5 Pro
Sony might reveal a list of supported titles in the Community Game Help feature soon, with “more details as we get closer to the launch.” Meanwhile, PlayStation fans are also eagerly anticipating the announcement of the rumored PlayStation 5 Pro, which Insider Gaming reported on last week.
