Exclusive Leak: New Death Race Mode in Rocket Racing by @BeastFNCreative

Long-standing Fortnite dataminer, @BeastFNCreative, has recently leaked new information regarding an upcoming Death Race mode in Rocket Racing.

Objective: Make the Track Deadlier

The new objective for Death Race reportedly involves making the track harder to complete by placing a variety of deadly objects. Spikes, in particular, have been mentioned. Other players could potentially be hindered by any obstacles that force them to collide with walls.

@iFireMonkey’s Previous Leak

Last September, reliable leaker @iFireMonkey hinted at the existence of Death Race, but didn’t have any specifics about the mode at that time. It was initially recognized as a playlist for “Del Mar” before Rocket Racing was officially confirmed.

Unfinished ‘Wedge’ Map Unearthed

Later in January 2023, @iFireMonkey uncovered an “unfinished ‘Wedge’ map” for Death Race. This core gameplay map was shared via Twitter.

Additionally, @BeastFNCreative shared actual footage of the in-progress Wedge map on Twitter, thanks to @SpushFNBR.

Speculations and Release Date

Fans speculate that the Death Race mode might be released sometime in early 2024. The developers have confirmed an update for Season 1 in Rocket Racing, which will roll out in early 2024 and include “speed run leaderboards, further customization options, [and] creator-made tracks.”

Complementing Player Creativity

The addition of creator-made tracks in the game would certainly enhance a Death Race mode where players can add their own obstacles. Both modes revolve around player creativity.

Divided Opinions and Future Opportunities

Some fans have expressed mixed opinions about the Death Race mode. It deviates from traditional kart game modes, and certain players may prefer to see classic ideas in Rocket Racing instead.

Keeping Up with Fortnite Festival

However, as Fortnite continues to expand, Rocket Racing could benefit from something new to compete with the Fortnite Festival, which is also scheduled for January 2024.
