MLB The Show 24: Release Date, Cover Athlete, and Exciting Features

Get ready for the newest addition to the MLB The Show series! Sony San Diego’s MLB The Show 24 is set to launch on March 19, 2023, for various platforms including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Meet the New Cover Athlete: Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Toronto Blue Jays‘ star, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., graces the cover of MLB The Show 24. He is the second Toronto Blue Jays player to be featured on the game’s cover, following Josh Donaldson in MLB The Show 16. Vladimir’s cover appearance also makes him and his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., the first father-son duo to be on the MLB The Show cover.

“We always look for great baseball players with interesting stories to tell,” said Ramone Russell, Game Director at Sony San Diego. “We also want to partner with great people with fun personalities who genuinely enjoy playing MLB The Show,” he added.

“Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is a great baseball player and embodies the sport’s best qualities,” Russell continued. “Fans saw this during his Home Run Derby win last July. He loves the game, comes from a baseball family, and giving back to his community is very important. These factors and others made Vladimir Guerrero Jr. the right choice for this year’s cover athlete.”

Although Sony has not yet announced the full feature list for MLB The Show 24, fans can expect more details to come soon. Next on the agenda is the reveal of the game’s Collector’s Edition on February 6.
