David Haddad, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, shared in an interview with Variety.
“The team at Avalanche set out to create an engaging and immersive Harry Potter experience, and I believe that’s why it resonated so well with players worldwide,” he continued.

Despite some controversies surrounding Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling, Hogwarts Legacy has received positive feedback from players and critics alike.
“Despite the game’s success, it did not receive any major post-release awards,” the article noted.
Sales Milestones for Hogwarts Legacy
First introduced on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy sold over 12 million copies within its first two weeks. Subsequently, the game was launched on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Record-Breaking Sales in the Gaming Industry
“It’s remarkable that a new IP, such as Hogwarts Legacy, has managed to reach the top ranks in the gaming industry, typically held by established sequels,” Haddad stated.
