Stalker 2 Developer GSC Game World Adds Industry Veteran Agostino Simonetta as CCO
In a major move for Stalker 2 developer GSC Game World, industry veteran Agostino Simonetta has joined the team as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). With extensive experience in publishing and business development, Simonetta will be responsible for overseeing the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and its future expansions.
Simonetta is no stranger to the industry, having previously worked at SEGA, THQ, and Thunderful. GSC Game World’s CEO Evgeniy Grygorovych has known Simonetta for many years and considers him a friend of the company.
“Adding Agostino as the new CCO may only be the first expansion in GSC Game World’s staff,” said Grygorovych. “We have ambitious plans for the future, with new projects and IPs in development.”
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Stalker 2 is an open-world first-person shooter sequel developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World. The highly anticipated follow-up to the original hit game, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., aims to deliver an even more immersive experience with new mutants, factions, and anomalies for players to confront.
Delays and Improvements
Initially delayed in January 2020, the developers cited “technical imperfections that hold S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 below the expected standards for the final experience our fans are waiting for” as their reason for the delay.
Visuals and Future Plans
While some new screens were recently added to the Epic Games Store, they did not reveal many new details about the game. Fans of the series praised the visuals, however.
Simonetta on Joining GSC Game World
“I am honored to join GSC Game World as Chief Commercial Officer. Having cultivated a friendship with the company over many years, I am thrilled to collaborate with the talented team in bringing our shared vision to fruition,” said Simonetta after joining the GSC Game World team.
